Overview

An easy going and very scenic trek in the Ecuadorian Andes

Traverse the most spectacular landscapes and get the best view of the Avenue of Volcanoes in Ecuador

If you want to experience all of the biodiversity that Ecuador has to offer, then the Condorpaxi trek is the trip for you.

During your time on the trek, you will journey along the 'Avenue of Volcanoes'. This truly spectacular landscape is home to snow-capped volcanoes and pristine forest.

This relatively easy trek showcases the beauty and diversity of Ecuador’s landscape. In particular, the world famous volcanoes.

Ecuador boasts some of the most visually stunning volcanoes in South America. The majority are easily accessible from the capital city of Quito.

The Condorpaxi Trek is the perfect way for hikers to experience this volcano-packed country.

After starting out in Quito, you'll head to Pasochoa where you will pass through luscious grasslands and forest. The juxtaposed landscape becomes apparent after you circle the crater of the first extinct volcano.

The volcano exploration does not stop there, it has only just begun. An ancient trail brings you to the Rumiñahui Volcano where you’ll come face-to-face with the world-famous Cotopaxi and Corazón Volcanoes - both of which you’ll be climbing!

The summit of the Cotopaxi awaits you. Although the glacier is slightly challenging, you’ll be in good hands and the view from the top makes all of it worth it.

However, It’s not over yet! The hike of Corazón is followed up by an easy, celebration hike of Illiniza North. The steady pace of Illiniza gives you the chance to take any final photos and bask in the glory of Ecuador's uniquely biodiverse, volcanic landscape one last time.
