Level: Hard

From: $490

Enjoy one of the most demanding and picturesque bike treks in the world

A truly heart-pumping, adventure-fueled mountain biking expedition in the heart of the Cordilleras

This 2-wheel mountain bike adventure will take you through some of the most beautiful scenery in the world: the Cordillera Huayhuash. On the Cordillera Huayhuash Yerupaja Circuit you'll ride your bike over strenuous passes and glaciers, down steep mountain sides, around crystal-clear rivers and lakes, and even past dinosaur tracks.

The route will be smooth and easy some days and strenuous on others. Sometimes, there will be no road at all, and at times the rocky and/or steep terrain will require you to carry or push your bike. There will be a team of people and donkeys to help you carry your gear, and plenty of motivation along the way!

To ensure you’re ready for the extreme conditions of the Yerupaja circuit, you’ll spend 3 days completing acclimatization rides outside of Huaraz. The actual bike trek will begin at Yanashallash Pass 4,680 m. The ride is difficult, but full of adventure, unique experiences and incredible vistas worth every moment of sweat and sore muscles.

Ride past the snow-capped peaks of Uruashraju (5,722 m), Huanstán (6,395 m) and Yanamarey (5,237 m.). Cuyoc Point is the highest point of the bike trek at 5,020m. We’ll stop at times to take in the beauty of the Huayhuash giants Siula (6,260m) and Yerupajá (6,635m). Don’t miss this exhilarating adventure in the heart of the Cordillera, it’s not for the faint of heart.
