Cordillera Central, Colombia
The Santa Isabel Expedition is a renowned climb through one of Colombia's most diverse national parks - Los Nevados National Park.
On this adventure, you'll trek through the rare páramos - considered by scientists to be the fastest evolving regions on the planet - and wind through forests, lagoons and rivers, eventually making camp on the edge of the Otún lagoon.
On the third day of the trek, after climbing through the moorland that circle Santa Isabel, you'll attempt the summit at 5,000m. Reaching the summit of Santa Isabel provides spectacular views of Nevado del Ruiz to the north and Nevado del Tolima to the south.
If you're looking for adventure, rare biodiversity, and a touch of Colombian hospitality, this is the trip for you.
